Business Coach: With a broad and successful background, Rick Raymond, co-founder of The Growth Team, learned first-hand the challenges inherent in family businesses growing up in a third-generation family construction business. He also founded and sold an environmental management business. Rick holds a Master of Science degree, and is a graduate of CoachU, an internationally recognized executive coach training school.
Since 1996 he has worked with hundreds of closely held and family businesses in achieving success in the critical business areas of organizational structure, business systems, leadership development, team development, business growth, and family and succession planning.
Rick’s core abilities are in facilitating the inter-action and often difficult conversations among leadership teams, family members on family and business issues, succession planning, business systemization, and the family dynamics.
Rick is a member of the Family Firm Institute. He is also on the faculty at Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College City University of New York, and New York University where he teaches courses on family business management, leadership, and entrepreneurism.
The Growth Team co-founder, Rick Raymond, is an expert on family business best management practices, family dynamics, succession planning and leadership. That is why not only do family businesses play an important role in our social and economic fabric, but also at The Growth Team.
Yet while these complex businesses comprise nearly 85% of all businesses in the U.S., only about 10% survive past the third generation. It’s a story heard all too frequently about family business, “Here and gone in three generations.” It’s not for lack of effort on the founder’s part, but more so for lack of experience with the best management practices of successful family businesses.
Successful multi-generational family enterprises recognize that a parallel growth and development process of the family, the shareholders, and the business is required to achieve success in the business and create harmony in the family today and for generations to come.
Our Family Business Team also includes individuals with expertise critical to family enterprises including estate planning and partnership agreements.
